Xiaxue vs Dawn Yang

Okay i confess, i read their blogs. And maybe i can learn a thing or two from them young things.

I think Xiaxue is a better read. She admits she's ugly and uses it to her advantage. Ok correction, i don't think she's ugly but she often calls herself a tranny and i think its funny. She's also more honest and real, says exactly how she feels, and i admire that. Dawn's really just a pretty face, u wonder which part of her (including her sincerity) is real.

Anyway, they've been having this feud. Xiaxue's as usual, bitchy and honest and proclaimed her dislike for Dawn, said some "untrue" things about Dawn. Dawn's manager threatened a lawsuit and forced Xiaxue to retract her blog and post a public apology. She did as told to avoid lawsuit, but then later she got pissed off even more and .... i dunno i'm waiting to see wht happens.

I love love love these shots. This baby is 1 week old and mommy looks hot already! If memory serves me right, chinese women are not supposed to bathe 40 days after birth, so i think i probably won't look like this. Plus i have the XL genes so my arms would be 5 times the size of this woman (i'm scaring les away).

Well done Gabriel!

Mountain man to the rescue...

Sometime last week, i read a blog entry by Yann recounting how her fiance came to her aid when she had this nasty food poisoning. I felt very touched by the fiance's act of chivalry... I wondered if Les would have done the same if we weren't living together. I got my answer last night.
China is going through this season called the 黄梅时节, basically the monsoon equivalent which usually takes place late spring early summer.

So last night, i went out to Sanlitun's 3.3 (local shopping mall) for manicure/pedicure and it started pouring cats and dogs!! All the shops were closed by the time i was done, i couldn't get any umbrellas and there were like a million people waiting for cabs along the street. I called les to lament and surprisingly he offered to come pick me, AND he was having a beer when i called! so i was doubly touched.

When he arrived at 3.3, there were hoards of people rushing to the cab Les was in, assuming he was gonna get off.

This is a typical cab-fight scene in china:
Ang moh girl to her angmoh friend: Man i'm so ready to hop on that cab right now.
(i went infront of them and reached for the door handle)
Angmoh girl to me: Oh wait i don't think so...
(she and her friend rushed towards me and wanted to fight for the cab)
Me: Sorry ladies, my husband came to pick me.
(I hopped on the cab, feeling super "lawak")

My mom used to complain that when she was pregnant with us, she'd have funny cravings in the middle of the night and dad never once went out to buy supper for her. So i was extrememly grateful and proud that i have a loving husband who'd come to my rescue over such a small matter, i wasn't pregnant, or vomitting, or green in the face. I promise not to abuse it!!

Wedding Blogs....UPDATED

We've been too busy lately to blog. But there have been blogs about our wedding already!

Cousin Irena: http://everydaypostcards.blogspot.com/

Gabriel Mendes: http://gabrielmendes.net/

Esther TAN-TEO: http://tulips02.multiply.com/journal/item/33

Yann: http://yannisms.com/archives/2008/05/15/four-more-months/

The day was so perfect. Weather was great- nice and sunny for photography. We've also gotten very good feedback on different parts of the wedding. Fr. Anthony Ho was very personable, beautiful church, delicious catered food, great service and food at Four Seasons. And the highlights were definitely the touching speeches (Sisters, Bestman, Lester's Dad), and of course Caravan Jazz Band who rocked the night away.

There's really nothing more to say except more THANK YOUs to those who've helped, offered to help, and prayed really really hard for us.

Stay tuned for more pictures and write-ups.

No matter how white you are ...

....you would always have spots of black. Or cases of gray.

Cousin Irena shared 2 very insightful articles from Today Weekend. They happen to speak to my current life experience.

To Irena

Hello cuz...
i know i'd have u by the dog picture. Its so cute, only a little bigger than my palm, i hope it doesn't become someone else's meal.

I took all those pictures, did a bit of editing/cropping. The scenery is damn beautiful, the people are interesting also. I used a panasonic digi cam, but i'm looking to buy a good one do u have recommendations?

Anyway, good luck with ur tennis lessons. It's been 2 months since my last game cos summer was too unbearable to play. The weather in SH is about 20 degrees now, perfect for a sweatless game...
