Toilet Time

U know how sometimes the toilet cubicle is quite a boring place... I tend to observe the "surroundings" if i forget my magazine.

So i saw this in our company toilet. I assumed that the hook was originally placed much higher than where my bag is now hanging. Of course when i saw this i was seated, but i was curious to find out how high it was originally.

Then i stood up. wearing 3 inch heels. I am almost 1.7m. I am taller than average office height. I would have needed to stretch my hand all the way up before i can hook my bag if it were on the upper hole.

At least they figured it out and made it lower. Hehe. i think i need a section on the blog which says "useless information".

Nu Ren Jie + Nan luo Gu Xiang...(Updated Wii Section)

The weekend was quite fullfilling... Saw enough, ate enough, rested enough and also met new friends who are very nice pple. The house is really coming together. Won't show u pictures till our new furniture arrives next week!

Anyway, on Saturday, we were out hunting for an umbrella stand, so we went to Nu Ren Jie (Street for Women). Unlike the Nu Ren Jie in HK, this one has alot more household stuff. Lamps, ceramic casseroles, tablecloths....

We saw this spastic donkey toy... the head just goes round and round and round. The rustafarian toys at the back look pretty Hahppy.

Nothing special bout the clocks except after i took this picture, the lady walked over to say, No pictures allowed! so this must be priceless.

On Sunday, we were at Nan Luo Gu Xiang. THis place is best compared to Taikang Lu, but a much bigger version. Quaint, old but charming, a little artsy fartsy. I have a feeling i'm gonna be exploring this place quite a lot. This is also the place to go if u want to buy musical instruments.
Pls ignore my untamed hair. It's 30 over degrees and i'd been out the whole day.

China Boy. Once he realised i was there, he ran away.

I forgot to mention that Les and i been playing Wii all weekend! Guitar heroes 3 is a rockstar wannabe's greatest addiction.
Btw, can someone help. We're down to our last battle with Lou. I can't seem to get undo the whammy attack. Pls help!!! I suspect my whammy lever is not working properly!!!

Well Done Zheng Jie!

For the first time in history, a chinese made it through to the semis of a big tournament. I can't describe how proud i am, and i am sure that at least 1.3 billion other people would share my sentiments.

Even though Zheng Jie didn't beat Serena Williams who apparently is at the peak of her form, she gave a good fight. 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) is not a bad score.

BTW, I'm a little behind with the scoring system now, i don't know wht happens during tiebreak, is it sudden death? Maybe someone can enlighten.

Xiaxue vs Dawn Yang

Okay i confess, i read their blogs. And maybe i can learn a thing or two from them young things.

I think Xiaxue is a better read. She admits she's ugly and uses it to her advantage. Ok correction, i don't think she's ugly but she often calls herself a tranny and i think its funny. She's also more honest and real, says exactly how she feels, and i admire that. Dawn's really just a pretty face, u wonder which part of her (including her sincerity) is real.

Anyway, they've been having this feud. Xiaxue's as usual, bitchy and honest and proclaimed her dislike for Dawn, said some "untrue" things about Dawn. Dawn's manager threatened a lawsuit and forced Xiaxue to retract her blog and post a public apology. She did as told to avoid lawsuit, but then later she got pissed off even more and .... i dunno i'm waiting to see wht happens.

Did You Know?

THat King and Queen of pop dated?

Interesting Celebrity Weddings...

I came across these pictures today. I'm still in wedding mood cos April is getting married next week!!

Pretty Brides...
Nicole is wearing a Balenciaga gown.

This is my favourite Jen bride look. Too bad it's not her favourite marriage.

There's something very royal about this wedding. It's like a fairy tale, the soccer star marries the pop star... She looks very good here without very heavy make-up. And i'm glad they are still going strong now.

Did i ever mention that i've seen Bill Rancic IRL (in real life)! He's quite the suave. I like his wife's (E! host Juliana DePandi) Monique Lhuiliier gown.
I didn't know Mini-me attended the wedding.
Kid Brides

Honestly, they pulled this off... ON THE DOG.

"Hey, hey, you, you, i don't like your girlfriend... "

Slutty Brides

Tori's a homewrecker, and she dresses like one. Her husband just looks psycho, i bet he's in it for the Spelling inheritance.

Well it's Pam. And when u've been married a dozen times, u know u'd get a next time to do it right.

The Oldies Brides...

The Clintons. Hur hur hur... Hilary still has tht sneer.

I didn't know alien headgears were ever in fashion?

Rockstar Brides
Heather Locklear and Tommy Lee did it the punk way. This photo can also be filed under Slutty Brides.

Beach Girl's Weekend (In Shanghai)

Sorry the post is very delayed. I've been busy. But i've had such a exciting weekend it's a sin not to report it.

First of all, i stayed with Aileen, so it was a BLAST. She even prepared sample bottles of Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries and laid them neatly on my bed to welcome me.

We ate lots, shopped lots, and we played chor dai dee, something we haven't done for a long time.

Cut to the best part. We visited this furniture exhibition along Nanjing Road. The exhibits were not bad, most of the stuff were imported and really really expensive.

So i was walking walking and i saw this cool looking magazine rack. Its just 3 pieces of perplex glued together stylishly. So i bent down and tried to play around with it, it was kinda elastic so i figured "oh cool! A foldable magazine rack!" And then... Kreeaaaak...GASP!

An angmoh man rushed over...
"Oooohh.... (like he was in pain so i assume he's the designer), why did u have to touch it..."
I was like "I'm so sorry i thought it was kinda elastic i didn't mean to"
Then this ABC woman rushed over to join the crowd "Oh, yOu're dead, u gotta come with me to the front and you have to pay 500RMB!"
Then she and the angmoh man started arguing. The angmoh didn't want me to pay the damages cos he clearly saw that i didn't mean to, but the girl on the other hand was CHAMPIONING for me to pay the damages. Apparently another chinese guy broke one the day before too...

ABC woman " I don't care u have to come with to the front and pay for this, you didn't have to touch the exhibits"
Aileen " HEY Excuse me, if you don't want people to touch, u shd put a sign which says PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH. Have you been to China? People TOUCH".
ABC Woman " Yeah it's our first time here and we're never coming back"
Stella " Okay then don't come back cos china don't welcome you. And your design is a failure, how can it break so easily!"

We got away with it. Geez but i wish i had done MORE to embarrass them cos i actually had a MEDIA pass, which means that i could have pretended i was journalist and threaten bad press on them.

Seriously, my greatest despise goes out to ABCs who has this white complex. Not all are bad, but i hate the ones that treat their own people like dogs, and yet their brains are inferior to dogs.... In the first place, a magazine rack isn't suppose to break, its a piece of furniture tht is supposed to endure a bit of mass (and i wasn't using any force). And the fact tht another guy broke it the day before says a lot right? Secondly, its a furniture exhibition, people need to touch and feel materials. Thirdly, writing out china? Yeah good luck. I hope u can sell 2 pieces of your sorry magazine rack per year.
