Oh Le Shit

Mountain man and I are off to Paris for CNY. I love travelling... but i hate applying for visas. Yes, silly me had cold feet handing over my indonesian passport for a singaporean one some years ago, so i'm still having this helluva useless indonesian passpart tht doesn't allow me to go anywhere without a visa. And can i just say for the record that embassies are the number 1 most fu*ked up people, i daresay even more effed up than shitibank.

They don't budge, they have no compassion, they can kill u just by putting u on their blacklist. For the France (schengen) visa, i had to prepare 26 different documents to prove that i am worthy to set foot on croissant land. 26?! tht's like a record breaking number of documents. can u blame me for taking a little more time to prepare wht i need??!!! honestly i had wasted no time at all at getting this done.

So. my airticket says tht i fly on the 23rd. but the francaise tells me tht i can only collect on the 23rd cos the effed up Indonesian passport needs the approval of a certain francois in Shenzhen. ONE DAY DIFFERENCE. guess how much i have to pay... 1THOUSAND SGD DOLLARS PER PERSON JUST TO CHANGE MY TICKET. i am sooooooooo fed up. ONE DAY. can they be ANYMORE cruel. can't they just speed things up abit? i have like a million visas on my passport already, i have proven tht i am not a threat to any of the countries that i've visited.

ARGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.... this is majorly upsetting.

i can see you all the way over here ella, jumping mad. ..

did you know about the french embassy over here.. minimum three trips: one to submit doc, then u go back, check ur visa application (approve or not. if not approve, don need to dump pp there). but if approve, go back there again. then come back another day to collect. wah liew. and their embassy is not the most accessible location lorh. always need to take cab.

oh, if you don't have the right docs, please just go back one more time cos they absolutely won't accept ur application.

german embassy is so much better, two trips and that's it. n they're at raffles place. they think of solutions for you and provide accessiblity. usa embassy gave me FIVE year visa. but these other european countries keep giving me one week or one month visa everytime.. so tiring. n oh yea of course they don really care wat u have to do to get to their country.. :P

u're welcome to rant more. u've prepared 26 items. guess how many stuffs i had prepared in the past two years. bah, humbug!

btw i have to go french embassy tomorrow. apply for austria visa. i rue the day austria decides to work with french embassy to issue schenegn visa for austria... why din they just pick german embassy to issue their austrian visa??? *bawls

Their hearts r really hard ya! Just 1 day difference!
I can totally understand your anger.
26 Documents? Isn't now a (almost)paperless Era already?
So much effort made.
You MUST enjoy your trip!

Wow.. can understand your anger and SGD1k to change air ticket is a lot of money. From what I know applying a Dutch visa is very easy, it took me 1 trip and was approved. Mebbe next time you wanna visit Paris, you should via Holland.

You wanna give up the green passport and join the other force? lol. You know what I'm crossing my fingers on my S'pore PR. S'pore govt might want to revoke my PR, cos maybe I am not contributing much to S'pore I guess. Then what about the 18 years I am there? Huuhuuhuu..

Change change!! Anyway u r not living in Indo..Then no more Fisca Tax for u anymore!
BTW,
Do u know that now each Orang Indo & working Expat has to pay extra S$330 (up from S$135 since 1/1/09). If not,the expat need to pay approx 23% from our pay as tax each year or orang Indo has to attached herself to husband's tax number to enjoy "free" fiscal tax(then they r able to track the husband's income amt"..
Imagine a family of 5 travelling out..How much in addition to the tickets.
What a fine country policy..

Stella... change to red passport.. anyway your hubby is s'porean and you dont stay here.

Angie, currently for our family, fiscal is free, but nannies pay Rp2.5jt each! I heard that they are going to wipe out Fiscal system in 2010 or 2011

Wina,,Yes Free, but if u travel often and they feel if the husband can afford to pay for so many family members' trips, they will start checking your fiancial status. That means trouble..
If they r wiping out the fiscal system,, that's really gd news! If rumored to be in 2010,, it will happen in 2015 mayb.
Anyway only then , kids need to pay fiscal.hehe

Im so sorry to hear that you also had a bad experience.
Im an australian living in France since august and I'm STILL waiting to receive my carte de sejour. Administration in France is TERRIBLE and I think they get a kick out of being a pain in the ass haahha. Meanwhile i love your bbags especially your eb! where did you find her? ...did you pick anything up from paris?
