Kartika challenged the authorities to cane her in public, and now they are reviewing the sentence, reconsidering if it's too severe for the "crime" she had "committed". Partly in fear of bringing shame to the state.
I don't think i'll ever understand why a religion can be so strict. Should it not be between you and God? Why are men empowered to judge and implement the so called "punishments" on behalf of the Almighty?
I hope Kartika will stay strong throughout this ordeal.
